Pasaport Pier and the breakwater structure connected to it were first built by the British in the 1800's for a French company. It was the busiest coastal street of İzmir at that time. Today, one can go to Karşıyaka, Bostanlı, Göztepe, Bayraklı and Alsancak Piers by ferry from this pier.
